Hey y’all! I apologize for being M.I.A. lately; I have had a ridiculously hectic summer! But summer is coming to an end and, honestly, I couldn’t be more thrilled. Autumn is my absolute favorite season of the year for so many reasons…football is back (Go Dawgs!), the temps should (hopefully) start to cool down, fall fashion is in full swing, and festivals during these next couple months are the best!
This weekend is my favorite one of all: Music Midtown. It’s a full two days of non-stop music that never disappoints. Second to the actual artists, my favorite part of this festival is the fashion. ATLiens break out their festival best, turning Piedmont Park into our very own Coachella, and I love every bit of it! Occasionally you see the one chick who looks like she got lost on her way to TomorrowWorld (R.I.P.) and is seriously confused about the weather (full-on wooly mammoth boots with a crop top and bikini bottoms…you know what I’m talking about) but for the most part, its booties and hats and cropped shorts; oh my! If you’re like me, you start planning your outfits well in advance. You must be comfortable; considering you’re going to be in crowds and on your feet all day, while it’s still hot as h-e-double-hockey-sticks outside. And you must be ready for all weather situations. 80% of the time, it rains (although last year, apparently Mother Nature decided to hold off so she could unleash her fury on TomorrowWorld…R.I.P. again) so you must be prepared and triple-check the forecast. This year, at least as of Wednesday, we have mid-80 temps and 10% chance of rain. So 100% chance of sweat. But I’m ready! I’ve stocked up on some things and have finally (well, probably) narrowed my outfits down to the two I will need. If you’re still on the hunt for ideas, I’ve linked some of my favorite festival attire below. I’ll be sure to snap some pics of my final selections this weekend. Happy Music Midtown weekend, Atlanta!
